Mangalore Bus Drivers and their cold blooded murders

I have been living this beautiful city called Mangalore for past about 5 years.... In the past five years so many things have changed in Mangalore.... In 2008 literally I will not get anything to eat after 9... rather they were  no budget food joints where i can have my dinner... but now i find a lot of places which i might have missed those days..... Shops used to close by 8:00/8:30 & the Bharat mall had changed it i think. Big Bazaar used to be open till 9. Then slowly things started changing. I had got my bike by those days and i used to enjoy the company of my colleagues by checking out all food joints. Though there are so many changes, one thing I haven't found any change is the Buses.  Board a local bus and never expect a ticket to be issued, but keep the change for the conductor. One tip i got for traveling in the bus was never to keep your hands full. Always you have to hold on to some thing else expect yourselves to be thrown to the floor when the dri

A Comment on Airline Business in India

1.Any airline is coming into picture after a large land area which might have been used for agriculture is taken away from farmers and given to Airport Authority. Thus high taxes are required to off set the social security of the people who lost the land. People would love to argue that the compensation is paid. But i would love to bring it to their attention that the amount is paltry and if you can't accept it think about this.Goverment will take away the house owned by you and giving you Government rates. 2. If AI needs bail out its because of private airlines only. No one knows why AI cancelled some of the most profitable routes wherein the load factor was always 100% (Kochi to middle east, Bangalore to some european nations etc). All these slots were given to private players. 3. The basic argument of economists for private sector is efficiency  and if private sector is not able to deliver it why not government take over it rather than bailing it out? And if Air India ca

Google + invitation received....

Finally today i had received an invitation from my friend for google plus. All i did was signed out of my google account and logged in again. After this i just went to plus.google.com. phew already my photo and friends were waiting for me.... all i had to do was to jus check things and add people to my circle.... nice work google.... Still a lot more things to come.... like games for which kids have n of logins in Facebook... (my cousins have a lot of profiles...god knows where they find time it) But it looks cool and things what i share is personal... that is really a paradigm shift from Facebook...

Google + Invite.....

Since Google announced the Google +,  I am thirlled with it. But the problem is that i don't have a invite for joining Google +. I was trying various ways to get it to Google plus. I found none of the methods work. First i tried using my iPod touch to access the login page..... Failure. Lots of search in google for google + invite, then came the idea for linking the profile for google +. This was also detected by google and blocked. Next idea was asking all friends whether they are using google +... at last i found a friends friend using google +.  He also sent a invite for the friend. Then came the googly.... Google stopped accepting invitations. In between i had tried using google + application in chrome. Finally nothing has worked. In the mean while i have found something interesting. Facebook has got a lot of ways to keep the users with themselves. Facebook behaves like the Sun Tv in cable industry. Not good. Thangavel.

How to buy books online

I have been buying books online from Flipkart.com for a while now. I remember calling the customer care for the first time and asking whether they sell original copyrighted books or those are illegal prints. Laughed the executive and explained me that they have agreements with the publishers to sell books online. I found the books which i could't find anywhere (even in Landmark, Cross etc)... Esp the books for CIMA, CISA etc.... Now they have also started selling Music, Movies, Games, Mobiles, Cameras, Computers and Mp3 Players/iPods. Just try searching and buying from Flipkart.com.....

Pranab Mukherjee

Hi , This is urgent! I have just shown my support for India's forests. I have asked Pranab Mukherjee to hold a public consultation before deciding on the fate of our forests. Please read the mail below and take action. http://www.greenpeace.org/india/en/What-We-Do/Stop-Climate-Change/Quit-Coal/public-consultation-on-forests/ Regards, Dear , The coal versus forest tussle has intensified. A decision will be taken soon by the Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Pranab Mukherjee. Their first meeting is on Thursday , the 17th. [1] Last year environment and forest minister Jairam Ramesh marked certain dense forests as No Go zones for coal mining. [2] The coal ministry however wants access to all these areas. [3] The GoM is now going to decide if we should destroy these forests and the biodiversity they hold to mine more polluting coal. [4] These forests are crucial to the livelihood of millions and home to wildlife like tigers and elephants.[5] Forests are a nationa
